 How do I change the NX Menus from the new Ribbon-style menus back to Classic toolbars? Why is this ability not available in NX11 and above?

In previous versions of NX, users could switch the user interface to "Classic Toolbars" and back again;

 1. Launch NX through Enterprise or standalone on client
 2. Click on Menu -> Preferences -> User Interface
 3. Click on the Layout tab
 4. Under "User Interface Environment" click on "Classic Toolbars"
 5. Apply, hit OK

This functionality worked with NX9 and NX10, but not in NX11 and above.

Solution

Classic Toolbar user interface has been retired from the Windows platform in NX11 and the Ribbon Bar is
the only available user interface on Windows. The Ribbon Bar interface provides access to more commands than the Advanced role in Classic Toolbar mode with a larger graphics window. And it does all this with logical groupings, informative text and a mixture of icon sizes. In addition to these traditional aspects of the Ribbon Bar, the NX ribbon is fully customizable and contains NX-specific extensions such as border bars. The result is a more organized user interface with the richness of Advanced and the discoverability
of Essentials.

For instructions on how to migrate from Classic interface to Ribbon bar interface, see "NX Ribbon-Customization and Transition" in the NX Documentation.
