In the Solid Edge P&ID example shown in the image below, the blue conducting line to which the text label belongs is relatively short. It would be easier to place the text if the horizontal part of the text leader were either longer or non-existent. Can the length be adjusted?
The text leader horizontal line can be controlled by a value in the PCSCAD.INI
This is usually in the location "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\PCSCHEMATIC\Solid Edge P&ID\WorkStation"
When opening the PCSCAD.INI with an editor (e.g. notepad ++), then you can search for the section [SmapData]
Under this group is the parameter "TextLeaderStartLength" with a default value 5000.
This value can be changed as needed noting that the unit is in thousands of a mm so 5000 is 5mm.
Please note:
When loading a PRO, this value is taken from the active PCSCAD.INI of a client. If different clients do have different values for this parameter set, it will look different at every client.
From this point of view, it should be mandatory to change this parameter (its value) on all client computers that need to use the new value in case of central server and client configuration.
