Head Mounted Display (HMD) for NX Immersive Explorer and Immersive Engineering

From version NX 2312 the new NX Immersive Explorer Application is available.

Immersive Explorer allows you to Visualize and Review NX parts in an immersive and interactive environment.  Whilst it is possible to use Immersive Explorer or Immersive Collaboration in a 2D desktop mode, the best experience is in Virtual Reality using a Head Mounted Display (HMD)

From NX 2412 the Immersive capabilities have been increased with the Immersive Designer and Immersive Collaboration tools. All of these tools together form Immersive Engineering in NX. 

Which Head Mounted Displays (HMD) can be used with Immersive Engineering?

Immersive Explorer and Immersive Collaboration (available only with NX X) can be used with a several different types of HMD or in Desktop Mode. 

Immersive Designer can only be used with the Sony XR HMD.

The Platform setting in the Immersive Preferences allows selection of the appropriate settings for the HMD.

Desktop can be used with any machine and displays Immersive Explorer or Immersive Collaboration as a separate window on your desktop 

Windows Mixed Reality supports HP Reverb type headsets (G1, G2) 

Meta / Oculus supports Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3s 

SteamVR supports HTC Vive (Pro line Only)

Sony supports Sony SRH-S1, also known as Sony XR HMD. 

Due to the large number of VR HMD/headsets available (each with different controller configurations) and new ones being launched all the time, we cannot maintain a definitive list in the NX Documentation of all the headsets we support or have tested. Please contact PLM Support if you have questions regarding support for other Headsets.
