Unable to save Solid Edge files as PDF
SolutionThe following items need to be checked as possible culprits:
· Disable Windows Defender Feature - Realtime Protection, Cloud-Delivered Protection, Tamper Protection. Windows Defender might be scanning all files very slowly; that might be adding to the delay during transfer and opening by Solid Edge
· Ensure UAC is set to Never Notify
· Add Solid Edge install folder, edge.exe and PrinterInstaller.exe to an exception list of antivirus.
If the above doesn't help.
There are few more things to check:
1. Check if SEPDFScratch folder exists and does not having any non-English characters. This will be under "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 224"
2. Check if the user profile is of the Roaming type
a. One of the ways to check is :
1) Go to Control Panel, set the "View by" to Small icons, and then click on System. Go to 'Advanced system settings'
2) This will open System Properties dialog
3) User Profiles->Settings
4) This will open User profiles dialog
5) Here locate the user name under Name column and type under Type column.
