How to remove the preview of model?

A User accidently created an image of 3D model in the part file. They only want to show the drawing of that part file in the window explorer preview. Is there a way to delete the 3D model preview in NX part file?

Storing the Previews are controlled in NX from the Object Properties in “File Properties Preview tab” and the Previews are Created when the part is Saved in NX.

To display the drawing sheet and not the 3D Model, also so that the Preview options does not display in the Windows Explorer, do the following steps;

1. Go to the Drafting Application and Open the drawing sheet that you want to display in the preview. Open the Properties Preview and toggle OFF the “Store Preview” options for Part Preview and Model View Previews, then Select OK

2. Save the Part so that that all of the existing Previews are deleted including the 3D Model preview.

· At this point, there will be no preview available for the part in Windows Explorer.

3. Go back to the Properties Preview, for the Part Preview options and toggle ON “Store Preview”, “On Demand”, also select “Create Preview Now” to show the
preview that will be displayed.

Optional: Leave the “Store Preview” option for the “Model View Preview” toggled OFF.

4. Save the Part so that the Preview is Re-Created.

5. In Windows Explorer select the part and notice the Preview is now the drawing sheet and there’s no option to change to the 3D Model and Drawing Sheets.

Switching the "Creation Time" option to "On Demand" will avoid accidentally re-creating the 3d model view preview for this part the next time that it is saved without a drawing being displayed
