A through hole needs to be milled from one side of the part and the counterbore from the other. How can this be done when using Find Feature from the Machining Feature Navigator?

Solution

From the Machining Feature Navigator run Find Feature. Remove all Features to Recognize and then select the Through Hole. Select the Machining Access Direction and pick a Toward Point at the deepest part of the holes.

Run Group Feature and add the hole milling operation under the Feature Group from the Operation Navigator. This milling operation should start cutting on the side opposite the counterbore.

Now perform the steps above for the counterbore except pick Blind Hole instead of Through Hole.

Run Group Feature and add the hole milling operation under the Feature Group from the Operation Navigator.

The milling tool now correctly cuts from the counterbore side.
