NX How to copy the object name when "Save As New Item" is performed in NX Manager.

Object Name is not copied to the New Item

In Teamcenter BMIDE we have setting which controls Save As to keep the Item Name from original item name.

 These are the instructions to keep the Part Name same as the original part during Save As to a New Item.

In BMIDE

1. Open Item or Custom Item business object.

2. Select the 'Operation Descriptor' tab.

3. Under Operation Descriptor, select the 'SaveAsInput' tab.

4. Under the SaveAsInput tab, select "object_name".

5. Select the 'Property Constants' tab.

6. Select the 'CopyFromOriginal'.

7. Change the value to: true

false = Part Name will be removed from the field and replaced with the Part Number when assigned.

true = Part Name will remain the same as the original. Only the Part Number and Rev will be assigned.

Restart TC and NX.
