Solid Edge 3D SpaceMouse Not Functioning with Solid Edge Free 2D License

The 3DConnexion SpaceMouse does not work when using the free or zero-cost versions of Solid Edge. It functions correctly with a commercial license on the same machine but fails under the zero-cost license.

The zero-cost versions of Solid Edge do not support API functionality, which is necessary for third-party hardware like the SpaceMouse to interact with the software. Only commercial versions of Solid Edge provide this functionality.

Upgrading to SE355 "Solid Edge Drafting 2D with SEEC Connect", which incurs a minimal monthly cost, enables the required API functionality for the SpaceMouse to operate with Solid Edge.
