Details

When using Manufacturing Preparation in Ship Structure Manufacturing to create manufacturing components based on detail design components a Trace Link relationship is created in Teamcenter when the newly created manufacturing components are saved in NX.
(Manufacturing components are created when NX customer default “Create Separate Manufacturing Design Component” is enabled.)

- How can this Trace Link relationship be viewed in TC RAC?

Solution

To see Item Revision level Trace Links in TC RAC, which is the type of Trace Link created upon save in NX of manufacturing components created through Manufacturing Preparation,
In TC RAC
- Edit -> Options
- General -> Item Revision, in Available Relations list select "Trace Link", press "+" button, so it is added to Shown Relations

Teamcenter RAC Options dialog

- To apply change, OK to leave menu
- View -> Refresh Window to update My Navigator presentation
- Go to a manufacturing component Item Revision, expand the node
What looks like the item revision node of the original detail design plate is now shown under the manufacturing component node.

My Navigator showing manufacturing component item revision with all nodes expanded. The Trace Link relation is represented by corresponding detail design component item revision node

- Select this node (000030/A), MB3 -> Properties on Relations.

The properties menu show that is is a Trace Link under 000032/A (Primary) pointing at 000030/A (Secondary)

Also, if you select the manufacturing component item revision in My Navigator and activate the "Details" tab to the right, the Trace Link relation will be shown.
