Import of the NX Line Designer Library (managed) does not import associated files

2024-09-03T14:42:18Z

Summary

Details

After importing the Line Designer Library (NX LINE DESIGNER LIBRARY (FOR NX 2312)), the corresponding files (.prt, etc...) do not get imported.  The datasets for the objects are created, but there is no data, e.g. UGMASTER objects, within them.

Solution

The import of the "NX LINE DESIGNER LIBRARY (FOR NX 2312).xml" file
should be done with the "incremental import" instead of the "ConfiguredDataImportDefault" transfer mode.

The general import process will be:

  1. Download the latest NX LINE DESIGNER LIBRARY (FOR NX 2312) from support center (NX -> Downloads -> Additional Downloads)
    1. Unzip the file into a directory
      1. Make sure the xml and the data folder are present
        1. Open Teamcenter
          1. Select Tools -> Import -> PLMXML
            1. Select the XML file
              1. Select incremental import transfer mode
                1. Ok

                  Note that none of this imported library data is automatically classified. Unless the user manually classifies everything, it would not be available through MRL.   It would be accessed in the NX Reuse Library through the Teamcenter folder structure created during the import.  These folders would need to be defined in the customer defaults for the Reuse Library.  Please see the managed mode documentation here:

                  Notes

                  The line designer library is available under the NX 'Additional Downloads' section on Support Center.
