Solid Edge Reverse Engineering commands greyed out

Reverse Engineering commands are greyed out

The Reverse Engineering commands will be inactive if your part file does not contain a mesh body. Export a part file out as an .stl file, then import it back into Solid Edge. See that the Reverse Engineering commands are now active. This is because the imported .stl file contains a mesh body.
