Solid Edge Generating a Solid Edge Emergency License File (ELF)

The current Solid Edge licensing method is not working. Users need to create an Emergency License File (ELF) to continue using Solid Edge products.

Steps to Generate an ELF:

1. Access and log into the LMAdmin website using your Webkey (email address).

2. Select “Emergency Passwords and License Files”. 

3. Under “Product”, select “Solid Edge”.

4. Under “Version”, select the desired Solid Edge version.

5. Under “Reason for Requests”, select the appropriate reason for creating the ELF. If selecting “Other”, provide a short explanation.

6. Select the "I read and agree" option.

7. Select “Continue”.

8. The generated ELF will be emailed to you.

Once the email is received, you can then apply the ELF. If the email is not received, check your junk/spam folder.

Applying the ELF:

The email received will include steps to apply the ELF. 

The steps to apply the ELF will vary depending on the current Solid Edge licensing model in use.

 
Additional Information:

• An ELF is valid for 7 days.

• Users can generate up to 3 ELFs within any 60-day period.

• If the 3 ELFs limit is exceeded within 60 days, users can open a Support Case with Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Support to request PLMS to create an ELF on their behalf.
