Solid Edge "Invalid License file" message occurs even though the license file is valid

In this scenario, after assigning a valid Solid Edge license file to a new machine, an error message displays stating: "You do not have a valid license. Run the License Utility to configure your license, or contact your system administrator to resolve the issue. Invalid License file."

Solution

In this instance, though the license file was valid, it was downloaded to a Macbook and then transferred via the network to the PC where the license was intended to be used.  Consequently, the license file was no longer UTF-8 encoded and resulted in the "Invalid License file" error.

The solution here would be to download the license file directly onto the PC.
