Solid Edge Setting the Default Member in Solid Edge Family of Assemblies

Users are experiencing issues when trying to set a different assembly member as the default in a Family of Assemblies (FOA) file. When selecting a member and saving the document, the selected member does not persist as the default upon reopening the file. The problem occurs under the following conditions:

1. Selecting a member from the Family of Assemblies panel dropdown and saving the document.
2. Selecting a member via the "Edit table" option and saving the document.

1. Default Member Creation:

• When creating a Family of Assemblies, the first member created is automatically set as the default member.

2. Opening the FOA:

• If the FOA is opened from Windows Explorer, it will always display the default member.

• If the FOA is opened using the Solid Edge "Open" command, a dialog box will appear, allowing the user to choose which member to open.

Steps to Open a Specific Member in FOA:

1. Use the Solid Edge "Open" command instead of opening the FOA directly from Windows Explorer.
2. In the dialog box that appears, select the desired member to open.

This ensures that the selected member is active upon opening the document.
