After installing NX by running an Automatic update, Users reporting that only the Model tab is available in the File New dialog. It's missing the Drawing tab and could not create new drawings.
Verify that the "Drafting" Folder is available in the NX install folder.
C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX####\Drafting
If it is not available, suggest to Uninstall NX and Install the NX#### Functional release.
If you are performing an Automatic Installation by executing the "setup.exe" be sure to set the switch ADDLOCAL=ALL.
Note from the NX Installation Guide:

If you are doing a full installation then you must specify ADDLOCAL=ALL. If ADDLOCAL is not specified on the command, it is the same as ADDLOCAL="FEAT_NXPLATFORM" only.
("FEAT_NXPLATFORM,FEAT_MODEL_BASED_DEFINITION" prior to NX 2212)
After the installs are complete check to see if the Drafting folder is available. Start NX and verify that the Drawing tab is available in the File New dialog. If it is, you can now install the Monthly release of NX.
