Solid Edge How to Renew and Reconfigure Solid Edge Cloud Licenses

Upon renewal of Solid Edge cloud licenses and maintenance, users receive an error message indicating that the products have expired. This requires a manual reconfiguration of the cloud users. A request was made for a pre-renewal reconfiguration to ensure uninterrupted access to the licenses.

1. Overlap Check:

• Verify if there is an overlap between the expiration date of the current licenses and the start date of the renewed licenses. If there is an overlap, proceed to step 3. If there is no overlap, proceed to step 2.

2. Emergency License File:

• If there is no overlap, preconfiguring the cloud licenses is not possible.

• Generate and download an emergency license file to cover the downtime between the expiration of the old licenses and the configuration of the new licenses.

3. Reconfigure Cloud Licenses:

• If there is an overlap, reconfigure the cloud licenses to ensure users can access and reassign the new licenses when needed.

• After the expiration date, if any currently assigned licenses do not work for a user, assign the user to one of the open, unassigned licenses.

Additional Information:

• Pre-renewal Reconfiguration: It is not possible to reconfigure the cloud users before the renewal if the renewal period has not started. Only active licenses can be configured.

• Incident Reporting: For future renewals, create the Incident Report (IR) after verifying the overlap in the expiration and start dates of the licenses. If there is no overlap, create the IR immediately to handle the emergency license file download.

By following these steps, seamless access to Solid Edge cloud licenses can be ensured without interruptions.
