In this example, a customer has installed Solid Edge and placed the license file in an appropriate folder.
However when starting Solid Edge, they encounter an error message stating, "You do not have a valid licence. Run the licence utility to configure your licence or contact your system administrator to resolve this issue."
The error further specifies that the license file syntax was invalid.
Investigation revealed the issue to caused by an incorrect license file. In this particular instance, the license file was not downloaded directly onto the customer's Microsoft Windows machine. Instead, it had been downloaded onto a Macbook and then transferred to the Windows machine via a network.
This transfer process altered the coding of the file, resulting in it no longer being UTF8 coded, as required.
To resolve this issue, the customer needs to download a new copy of the license file directly onto their Windows machine. This ensures that the file will maintain the correct UTF8 coding. Subsequently, the error message should no longer appear, and Solid Edge will start without any issues.
