Solid Edge "This document contains a Divide Part feature and cannot support multiple bodies" in Split Body Command

When attempting to use the Split Body command in Solid Edge, the following error message appears:

"This document contains a Divide Part feature and cannot support multiple bodies. Start a multi-body model in a document with no Divide Part features."

This issue arises even though there are no visible Divide Part features in the model. The error prevents users from splitting the model using the Split Body command.

The error occurs because the part file has been previously marked by a Divide Part feature. Once a Divide Part command has been applied to a part file, it permanently marks the file as containing a Divide Part feature, even if the feature is later deleted. This marking cannot be undone.

To verify if a file has had the Divide Part command applied, follow these steps:

1. Open the part file in question.
2. Attempt to run the Divide Part command again.
3. If the command executes and shows that it has previously been applied, it confirms that the part file is marked as having a Divide Part feature. This marking is permanent and will trigger the error when attempting to use the Split Body command.

• If a part file has ever had a Divide Part feature applied, it will always be recognized as such by the system.
• This behavior is by design and cannot be altered once the part file is marked.

As an interim solution, advise users to recreate the model in a new document and perform the split operation there. This method has been confirmed to work without issues.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

• Create a New Model:Recreate the model from scratch in a new part file.Avoid using the Divide Part command in the new model.

• Split the New Model:Use the Split Body command on the newly created model.This should proceed without the error message, as the new model does not contain any Divide Part features.
