Solid Edge Unable to Replace Part in Alternate Assemblies Table due to Directory Name Issue

Users encounter an issue when attempting to replace a component listed in the Alternate Assemblies Table with one located in a directory whose name starts with the symbol "!" (exclamation mark). After performing such a replacement, subsequent replacements fail to execute successfully.

This behavior is by design. Solid Edge does not support the use of certain special characters, including the exclamation mark (!), in directory or file names intended for use within its environment. The exclamation mark specifically signifies an FOA (Family of Assemblies) member in Solid Edge, thus its presence in a directory name or file path can disrupt expected functionality, such as the ability to replace parts in the Alternate Assemblies Table.

To resolve this issue, ensure that directories and file names used with Solid Edge do not begin with or contain special characters like "!". Use alphanumeric characters and underscores (_) instead to maintain compatibility and functionality across Solid Edge operations, including component replacements in assemblies.
