Solid Edge Using VR Headset with Solid Edge and KeyShot for Solid Edge

A customer inquired about the possibility of using a VR headset, such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, with Solid Edge or the KeyShot for Solid Edge software to walk around their 3D models in a VR environment.

Solid Edge and KeyShot for Solid Edge do not currently support Virtual Reality (VR) capabilities, including any functionality related to VR headsets. Therefore, it is not possible to use a VR headset directly with Solid Edge or KeyShot for Solid Edge to visualize 3D models in VR.

However, additional functionality within KeyShot, a 3D rendering software, supports VR capabilities and can be used with VR headsets. KeyShot Pro includes VR functionality, allowing users to set up and use VR headsets. Users can refer to the KeyShot User Manual for detailed instructions on setting up and using VR devices:

Additionally, KeyShot offers a VR add-on application called KeyShotXR. This add-on does not require a VR headset and provides 360-degree visualization of a product. It may serve as an alternative solution for users seeking a VR-like experience without the need for a VR environment:
