Summary

Details

Users may encounter an issue where parts and assemblies created by the Multi-body Publish feature in Solid Edge are linked to a parent part. This linkage causes a message to appear when the parent part is used in an assembly. Users seek a way to break these links, allowing the part to behave as it did before publishing, without having to save a copy of the part.

Solution

Once a file has been tagged as the master file, it is not possible to directly break or remove the links. To achieve the desired outcome, follow these steps:

  1. Open the child published parts and break the links within these parts.
    1. Perform a "Save As" operation on the master file to create a copy.
      1. Using Windows Explorer, delete the original master file.
        1. Rename the saved copy to match the original master file name.

This process effectively removes the links and restores the part's behavior to its state prior to the Multi-body Publish operation.
