Solid Edge Resolving Pixelated PDF Inserted into Drawing

A customer reported an issue where inserting a PDF into a drawing using the "Insert Object" command resulted in a pixelated image. The steps to reproduce the problem are as follows:

1. Create a new draft file.
2. Use the "Insert Object" command and browse to a PDF file.
3. The inserted PDF image appears pixelated.

The customer seeks a method or workaround to achieve a higher resolution image of the inserted PDF.

To resolve the issue of pixelated PDF images when using the "Insert Object" command, follow these steps:

1. Convert the PDF to an Image Format:

• Use a PDF conversion tool to convert the PDF to a high-resolution image format, such as TIFF, PNG,  JPEG, etc..

• Ensure the conversion settings are set to the highest possible resolution to maintain image quality.

2. Insert the High-Resolution Image:

• Open the draft file where you want to insert the PDF content.

• Use the "Insert Image" command instead of "Insert Object."

• Browse to the high-resolution image file (PNG, TIFF, JPEG, etc.) and insert it into the drawing.

3. Adjust Image Quality Settings:

• After inserting the image, check the image quality settings within the software.

• Ensure that any compression or resolution settings are adjusted to retain the image's high quality.

This method ensures that the PDF content appears in the drawing with better resolution and avoids the pixelation issue.

Note: In limited testing of this workaround it was observed that the TIFF format appeared to give the best overall results. You will need to conduct your own evaluation to determine the best image format for your specific needs.
