Summary

Details

The "Optimize" command is not available after making any changes to an imported STEP file. Users expect the command to always be available, but it becomes inaccessible once operations such as filleting, cropping, or extrusion are performed on the model.

Solution

The "Optimize" command is designed to be available only immediately after importing a third-party model. Once any modifications are made to the model, the command is disabled. To use the "Optimize" command after making changes, follow one of these methods:

  1. Roll Back the Model:
    • For an ordered part, roll back the model to the initial BodyFeature operation.
      • Run the "Optimize" command.
        • Note: This method may cause downstream features to break.
          • Export the model as a Parasolid file.
            • Reimport the Parasolid file.
              • Immediately run the "Optimize" command after reimporting.

                Best Practice:

Always run the "Optimize" command immediately after importing a third-party model to avoid issues with accessibility after modifications.
