Solid Edge Saving a Flattened Sheetmetal Part as STEP

In this example, the user wants to quickly save a flattened Sheetmetal part as a STEP file.

However, "Save as Flat" will not provide STEP as an option for exporting.

 There is a quick way to get the flattened model saved:

1) Switch to "Flatten" Environment - quickly done by double-clicking on "Flat Pattern" in PathFinder

2) Now do a "Save as Translated".  This will offer the option of STEP as a format for exporting.  The command will take current, active model - which is flattened - and export it.
