How to create a full scale plot that exceeds the plotter's Limits.
Solution See the above video showing how to create multiple drawing sheets for plotting full scale portions of an object that exceed a plotter size limits.
- Create
a new file and make sure to start in the Top view.
- Select
File-> Import-> CGM. Do a Fit operation if needed to display the CGM
geometry.
- Select
Application-> Drafting and start a new drawing. In this case this is
the largest size available to the plotter.
- Select
the Base view icon and add the Top view to the drawing.
- Highlight
the view border and select Boundaries from the drop down.
- Change
the border type to Manual and drag a new border around the front half of
the CGM geometry. This should be within the limits of the plotter.
- Create
a 2nd sheet and add the Top view again.
- Repeat
steps 5 and 6 accept this time drag a border around the back half of the
view. Again, this should be within the limits of the plotter.
- Once
both sheets are plotted out they can be pieced together to get a full
scale plot of the geometry.
