Demonstrating Options for Character Spacing
1. In the Text dialog, in the Text Properties group, under the Character Spacing subgroup, check Font Gap Factor.
- Changing Font Gap Factor changes the spacing between all letters.
2. Under the Character Spacing group, check At Caret Position.
- The Font Gap Factor will no longer be consistent across the text.
3. Move the slider.
- This changes the location where the Font Gap Factor settings are applied. The letters where the settings are applied will be highlighted in red.
4. At different slider locations, change the Font Gap Factor.
- The Font Gap Factor will be applied only at the location where the caret is set.
5. Under the Text Properties group, change the text by prepending it.
- All values applied according to caret position will remain at that caret position and not the location in the text where it was originally applied.
6. Under the Text Properties group, change the text by appending it.
- All appended text will have the default Font Gap Factor.
7. Under the Text Properties group, delete the text and enter new text.
- All values applied according to caret position will be set to zero.
8. When finished, click OK.
