Creating Floating Tabs

1.       In the Resource Bar, right click on the desired tab and select Float Tab.

-Or-

2.       Click and drag the desired tab away from the Resource Bar.

3.       To return the Tool Window to the Resource Bar, click Dock to Resource Bar.

-          Note: Exiting the NX session saves layout customizations and recalls them for the next NX session.

Creating a Floating Resource Bar

1.       In the Resource Bar, click Resource Bar Options.

2.       Select Float.

Docking Floating Tool Windows

1.       Click and drag the desired tab toward a docking control.

2.       While hovering over a docking control, the location the tab will be placed is highlighted.

3.       Release the tab over the docking control to place it.

-          Notes: Tool Windows can be docked in the Resource Bar, in the Tabbed Window, or along the Edges of the Tabbed Window.

-          As of NX 2312: Search can now be docked to the Resource Bar.

Using the Switch Windows Command

1.       Choose the View tab -> Window group -> Window -> Switch Windows.

-          Note: The shortcut Ctrl + Tab can also be used. Release Tab while still holding Ctrl to keep the window open.

2.       In the Window, select the desired Tool Window or Document Window.

3.       The desired window will be brought forward.
