NX Unsupported operation message Mechanical Routed System Designer

When creating a routing path in Mechanical Routed System Designer, the following error is thrown during the creation of a routing line path:

The issue can occur when using a different template part for the 'Mechanical Stock Component Part' than the one that comes with the default NX installation.

The templates parts which come with the default NX installation (routing-mech-stock-mm-template.prt and routing-mech-stock-inch-template.prt) can be found in the directory %UGII_BASE_DIR%\ROUTING\templates and can be configured in the PAX files ugs_route_templates.pax (native NX) and nxdm_ugs_routing_templates.pax (managed NX).

The issue can be avoided by making sure to use a template part that comes with the default NX installation for the 'Mechanical Stock Component Part'.
