Summary

Details

After importing an IDX or IDF file using NX PCB Exchange application, if the tick box for "Show Log" is used the information window will pop up showing details. But if you've already done the import and want to look for the log file(s) from that import at a later time, how do you find them? In NX Managed, the system obviously knows where they are as it offers to check them into Teamcenter for you when you save the PCA into Teamcenter. For example:

How to locate the relevant log file(s) after the fact if you need them. How does the "Import Files for Part" know which files to offer for upload?

Solution

With the "Show Log" option toggled OFF, the log files still get created. The location of the log files depends on the user’s settings. By default they should be in the Read/Write Dir, defined in the PCB Exchange preferences, but the user could enable some setting to have them placed in the IDX Collaboration Dir.
