Solid Edge "Save as Flat" will create part using "IPS" instead of "MMKS"

In this example, the user finds that when they save a Solid Edge Sheetmetal (.psm) file with "Save as Flat" to a .par format, the units of that resulting .par file are "IPS" (inch, pound, second) instead of "MMKS" (millimeter, kilogram, second).  The normal .par template they use is setup as MMKS.

Solution

"Save as Flat" will not use templates from the settings of the "Units System", but will use the "Region-Format" Setting in Windows.  The user needs to chose a region which uses the metric system (such as "English (Germany)") in order to get "MMKS", whilst setting to e.g. "English (United States)" will result in "IPS".
