Hidden edges in display tab does not show all elements in dashed line style.

Solution

In NX 2312, there was some redesign done of the ribbons and menus affecting what had been called “rendering style” prior.

However in one sense, dynamic wireframe is limited when compared to static wireframe, in that it doesn’t always resolve hidden silhouette lines and is perhaps more noticeable in conical or spherical surfaces where a lack of hidden silhouettes causes a majority if not all of the geometry to go missing.

Dynamic wireframe is faster than static wireframe and also updates hidden edges as the view is rotated (and/or panned/zoomed if in perspective) – which is where “dynamic” comes from, whereas static wireframe requires one to hit Update Display to get a correct display after rotating (and/or panning/zooming in perspective).

Static wireframe are not accessible from the toolbar/ribbon by default and instead make dynamic wireframe the default wireframe mode. You can still get to static wireframe relatively easily from Visualization Preferences though.

Static Wireframe is a command that can be found by searching in the Search Window.

In the following example video a cube, cone and ball were put together to show how the individual functions work.
