Solid Edge getcid returns "no Siemens Software Licensing Composite HostID"

When running getcid.,exe, it returns "There is no Siemens Software Licensing Composite HostID for this host "XXXXXXXX" e,g,

This no "Composite HostID" message can occur if the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" is not enabled on the physical network adapter.

Simply enable IPv4 on the physical network adapter using the following steps...

Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Change adapter settings:

Select the physical network adapter and right-click > Properties

In the Networking tab select and check on the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" option:

Select OK to accept the changes.

Run getcid.exe again and this time a valid Composite HostID will be returned:
