Why is Solid Edge Data Management (SEDM) hard-coded to be activated in my environment and why cannot I switch it off?
SEDM is hard-coded to be activated if you are a customer who has a subscription license (HSAS). Our XAAS customers automatically get access to the collaboration platform Teamcenter Share (https://cloud.sw.siemens.com/share) and this requires some Solid Edge Data Management (SEDM) functions to work with - such as check in/out and indexing on the Connector.
This is why SEDM is hard-coded to be on. For normal work there will be no adverse impact - there is no need to configure any of the SEDM settings such auto-numbering.
