Customer notes that feature mapping logic can be imported or created inside of Machining Rules of the Machining Knowledge Editor, rather than inside of the Mapping Rules. How does the mapping from within Machining Rules work?
SolutionThe mechanism is the same. It is only the timing that changes.
A mapping rule in the Mapping Rule library can change the actual recognized features. You would see the results of this in the feature navigator after Find Features completes.
A mapping rule in the Machining Rule library can manipulate those recognized features, but that happens during the execution of Create Feature Process (instead of during the Find Features process). This can be compared to a "post processing" of the features to conform them to certain desired Machining Rules.
NotesThe FBM application processes can be seen and followed in the file MSAnalysis.lis on the system %temp% location.
