In this scenario, the user has created a Part. The Mass Moments of Inertia are important for them and they need to expose these in order to use them in the File Properties. In the Physical Properties one can see the value to three decimal places:
For the mass moments of inertia to be available in File Properties they need to be exposed via the Variable Table.
However, in the Variable Table one can see that the value is set to two decimal places.
How can the customer get three decimal places for the Moment of Inertia?
SolutionThere is an easy workaround: the Units for Moment of Inertia is also Mass per Area : kg/m²
By changing the Unit Type from "mass moment of inertia" to "mass per area" - which is identical in the Units kg/m² - you will then get the three decimal places required for the Variables:
Consequently, the exposed result in the File Properties will also be to three decimal places.
