We are excited to announce the launch of our new Lattice Designer in NX, available in NX 2312 as a production feature toggle that will be ON by default. This new product offers you a range of benefits, such as:
As we introduce this new product, we are also retiring the old version of Lattice Structure Designer in NX. Customers with the current product can replace that product with the new one at no additional cost. However, if you want to use both products, you will need to purchase both either through license or VBL. We recommend that you make the switch to the new product as soon as possible, as it will eventually replace the old one entirely.
With our new product, you can access almost all of the features and capabilities that you loved with the old one, with only a few minor differences. We are dedicated to improving the new product, especially in terms of body lattice feature generation speeds and robustness. We are also working on adding more parameterization types that are not yet available in the new product. We are grateful for your feedback and patience as we work hard to deliver the best product for you.
If you have any legacy data created with the old product, you will need to renew your existing lattices to carry them forward to the new product. Please note that once you renew or create a lattice in the new product, you will not be able to edit it in the old product. Therefore, if you want to use both products simultaneously, you should be aware of this limitation.
The new product has a similar user interface as the old one, with some enhancements and streamlining in the graph lattice feature. You will find the new product easy to use and intuitive, and we hope that you will enjoy the new possibilities and advantages that it offers.
To get started with the new product, you will need to update your NX to the latest version (NX 2312) and turn on the production feature toggle for the new Lattice Designer. If you do not have the new lattice product in your license, you will need to toggle it off in order to use the old product. Alternatively, you can contact your sales representative or maintenance renewal team to swap your old license for the new one. We will gladly assist you with the transition process and answer any questions you may have.
One final note — VBL is an option for the new product. This means that you can pay for the usage of the new product on a daily allowance, instead of buying a permanent license. This gives you more flexibility and affordability, especially if you only need the new product for occasional or short-term projects.
