How to Add a Surface Finish Symbol to a Table Cell or Title Block Cell

Solution
  1. Use the ‘Surface Finish Symbol’ command to insert a Surface Finish symbol onto the drawing.
    1. In the Menu, select ‘Insert-->Symbol-->Define Custom Symbol’.
      1. Select the Surface Finish Symbol and perform the ‘Image Capture’.
        1. Set any other desired options on the Define Custom Symbol dialog.  OK.
          1. If needed, make sure the title block is not on a ‘Visible Only’ layer.
            1. If needed, remove the table from the title block so the cell can be edited.
              1. 6.1. Hover the cursor over the title block, ‘MB3-->Edit Definition’.
                1. 6.2. Highlight the ‘Select Tables’ option, and deselect the table containing the cell to edit. May hold down the SHIFT key while selecting the table in order to de-select.
                  1. 6.3. OK the Define Title Block dialog.
                  2.  Select the cell to edit, ‘MB3-->Edit Text’.
                    1. If needed, in the ‘Text Input’ grouping, add any text or part attributes.
                      1. In the ‘Text Input’ group in the dialog, place the cursor where the Surface Finish Symbol will be inserted.
                        1. Select the ‘Custom Symbol’ command.
                          1. Browse to the ‘Part Symbols’ library.
                            1. Select the Surface Finish symbol you created.
                              1. Set the desired scale. OK.
                                1. OK the Text dialog.
                                  1. The text, along with the Surface Finish Symbol, are added to the table cell.
                                    1. If needed, re-add this table to the Title Block Definition and set the title block layer back to ‘Visible Only’.
