NX Can NX merge tangent surfaces into a single surface?

Is it possible to merge tangent patches into a single surface?

I was able to merge the 2 faces into one using -> Insert -> Synchronous Modeling ->Optimize ->Optimize face -> Leave the settings at Defaults->

Rectangle select all the faces of the part-> Apply -> You get a warning:

If it is ok to remove parameters from your part -> Hit Yes

You would get an information window to show the number of faces before and after the operation and the result is below:
