NX Siemens License Server (saltd) on Ubuntu Linux

About running getcid and ultimately installing / running the Siemens License Server (saltd common vendor daemon) on Ubuntu Linux.

EXAMPLE: Customer running getcid on Ubuntu gets the following error:

# su root ./getcid

./getcid: ./getcid: cannot execute binary file

For Linux, ONLY Red Hat and Suse are supported

Therefore Ubuntu is NOT SUPPORTED

This is a possible reason getcid might not be working on the Ubuntu operating system.

It is strongly advised (per the Release  Notes) to find a supported Linux (or Windows) license server machine to act as the Siemens License Server for  the long term.
