How can we send Kinematics data from NX to Process Simulate.
SolutionThe transfer of Kinematics data depends on whether it is a Single Part Kinematics or Compound Kinematics.
It is recommended that users prefer to store/share the data in form of Compound Kinematics(Assembly Level).
The following are the methods to transfer Kinematics in both the scenarios.
A. Compound (Assembly Level) Kinematics: (Example: Fixture)
Kinematics can be defined in NX at assembly level and can be saved in Teamcenter.
In Teamcenter, a Kinematics Dataset(plmxml file) is created under the Parent.
Process Simulate can access this file from TC and will be able to read this information.
B. Single Part Kinematics:
This type contains single part files with multiple bodies in it . Usually the kinematics are between such bodies or entities within a single part file.
Also to note:
In NX- Kinematics is stored in the PRT File.
In PS- Kinematics is embedded in JT File.
Hence, data exchange between NX and PS for such files requires a manual conversion using a utility.
1. In order to Share Kinematics defined in NX to PS you need to use TxImportKinematicsToJt utility.
2. In order to share kinematics defined in PS to NX you need to use TxExportKinematicsToKinPlmxml utility.
The utility can be found in the installation directory of Tecnomatix under eMPower.
