What are the current recommended versions of Windows 10 for Solid Edge 2023?
SolutionAll versions of Windows 10 Professional and higher editions that are currently in the active servicing timeline provided by Microsoft (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/release-information) during the active maintenance period of Solid Edge 2023 (https://support.sw.siemens.com/en-US/knowledge-base/PL8000986) are supported
Our recommendation has always been that customers should delay taking Windows 10 Feature Updates (new versions/operating systems) for as long as possible (https://support.sw.siemens.com/knowledge-base/PL8008188). This is because we believe that maturer Windows 10 versions provide for more overall stability than newer recently released Windows 10 versions.
As the maturest Windows 10 version approaches end of servicing with Microsoft we would then recommend that customers begin migrating over to the next maturest Windows 10 version that is actively supported by Microsoft.
As such, at this time, we recommend that customers should be using Windows 10 version 21H2 as it is the most mature actively supported version of Windows 10. As 21H2 approaches end of servicing with Microsoft we would then recommend customers begin migrating over to the next maturest supported version of Windows 10 which is currently version 22H2.
