Sometimes, sketch dimensions are displayed as double tilde not equal sign. Why and how do you change this behavior?

Solution

The behavior is working as designed and documented.

As in online doc: Sketch-> Sketch concepts -> Sketching and dimensioning->Dimensions.

When dimension values contain more decimal places than are displayed, a double-tilde symbol indicates that the dimension is approximate. This helps ensure that your dimensions are accurate.

If you double click to enter the desired value, the double-tilde symbol is disappeared.
