NX Resetting the Rotary Output to 0 at the End of Path.

NX for Manufacturing

Summary

Details

A four axis mill operation is used to cut a part. The intent is to maintain a climb cut tool direction. As the fourth axis spins the C rotary numbers become very large.

The operations that follow are drill and tap operations. The holes are positioned radially requiring C rotation. The rotary output for the drilling starts where the last operation ended. The C values are, therefore, large.

Can the C axis output be zeroed at the end of each tool path instead of starting where the last left off? The post is created in Post Configurator.

Solution

In Post Configurator there is a setting Motion Setting -> Additional Motions -> Retract -> Rotary Axes -> Reset Rotary Axis for Each End of Path for this.

Switching this to On resolved resulted in the output seen below.
