NX Option for Stereo (3D) display is not available in Visualization preferences

The NX documentation states the Stereo display options are available in the Visualization Preferences dialog

Why do I not see this option on my machine even though I have a suitable graphics card? The Visualization preferences dialog has no such entry.

These options will only be shown in the Preferences > Visualization dialog if the machine is capable of running 3D Display. 

If your graphics card is capable of this you will also need to enabled Stereo Display in the Nvidia control panel:

Then when NX is restarted the Stereo display option will be shown in the dialog: 

You can also check to see if Stereo viewing is available by looking in the NX log file for the entry "Stereo viewing". It need to be "available"
