Summary

Details

When Solid Edge aborts, the system writes data to the temp folder.  By inputting %temp% in a Windows Explorer window, you can access the temp folder and find the crashlogf.txt file which contains a lot of information about the Solid Edge session that was running.  At the top of the crashlogf.txt file, you will find two lines: “Elapsed session time” and “Cumulative session time”.

Below, is an explanation of these.

Solution

Both times are in the format days:hours:minutes:seconds.

"Elapsed session time" is the amount of time the current Solid Edge session was running before Solid Edge aborts. For example, if the elapsed session time is 0:01:29:19, this means that the current Solid Edge session was running for 1 hour, 29 minutes and 19 seconds before the abort occurred.

"Cumulative session time" refers to the total amount of time that you have spent using Solid Edge over multiple sessions since the last recorded abort and this current abort.  For example, if the cumulative session time is 19:19:58:24, this means that Solid Edge sessions between the last and this current abort ran for 19 days, 19 hours, 58 minutes and 24 seconds.

Notes

In case you experience frequent aborts, please open a support ticket and refer to the article 'How to create a comprehensive set of log files in the event of a Solid Edge close?' for Siemens Support to investigate.
