Using Units Manager to Create MM Features in IN Part

1.       Open a new NX session.

2.       Choose the Home tab -> New.

3.       In the New dialog, change Units to Inches.

4.       Name the file and choose its file path as desired.

5.       Click OK.

6.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Insert -> Design feature -> Block.

-          Note: In the Block dialog, inches are the default unit.

7.       Change the measurements as desired.

8.       Click OK.

9.       Choose the Tools tab -> Utilities group -> Expressions.

10.   In the Expressions dialog, in the table under the Units column, the units are listed as inches.

11.   Click Close.

Using Units Manager in Modeling

1.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Tools -> Units Manager.

2.       In the Units Manager dialog, change Preferred Data Entry Unit System to Metric(kg_mm) – kg/mm/N/deg/C.

3.       Click Close.

4.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Insert -> Design feature -> Block.

-          Note: In the Block dialog, millimeters are the default unit.

5.       Select a location for the block.

6.       Click OK.

7.       Choose the Tools tab -> Utilities group -> Expressions.

8.       In the Expressions dialog, in the table under the Units column, the units for the original block are listed as inches and the units for the new block are listed as millimeters.

9.       Click OK.

Using Units Manager in Drafting

1.       Open a Drawing.

2.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Preferences -> Drafting.

3.       In the Drafting Preferences dialog, Expand the Dimension group and Text group, then select Units.

4.       In the Units group, change Units to the desired unit using the drop-down menu.

5.       Click OK.

6.       Dimension the views as desired. All the dimensions made will be in the desired unit.
