How to Use Analyze Formability One Step to Create a Flat Pattern of a Complex Shape

1.       Choose the Home tab -> Synchronous Modeling group -> More -> Extract Geometry.

2.       In the Extract Geometry dialog, choose Face from the drop-down menu.

3.       In the Face group, change Face Option to Face Chain.

4.       Select all interior faces.

5.       Click OK.

6.       Using the Part Navigator, hide the original body so that only the Extracted Geometry can be viewed.

7.       Choose the Analysis tab -> Part group -> More -> Analyze Formability – One-step.

8.       In the Analyze Formability – One-step dialog, under the Object Type group, set the Object Type to Face.

9.       Select the Extracted Geometry.

10.   Under the Draw Direction group, choose Specify Vector and select the desired vector.

11.   Under the Thickness group, change the Surface Type to Inner Surface.

12.   Under the Calculation group, check Infer Dimension Size.

13.   In that same group, select Mesh and Calculation.

14.   Click OK.

15.   In the Part Navigator, hide the Extracted Geometry.
