Introduction to Mechatronics Concept Designer
Demonstrating Mechatronics Concept Designer -- Collisions
1. Choose the Application tab -> Design group -> More -> Mechatronics Concept Designer.
2. Choose the Home tab -> Mechanical group -> Rigid Body.
3. Select the desired body to apply rigid body physics to.
4. Under the Name group, enter a name for the rigid body.
5. Click OK.
- Note: The applied physics can be viewed in the Physics Navigator.
6. Choose the Home tab -> Mechanical group -> Collision Body.
7. Select the body with rigid body physics applied to it.
8. Under the Shape group, change the Collision Shape to best match the shape of the body with minimal faces.
- Note: Choosing a Collision shape with more faces will affect performance during simulations.
9. Under the Name group, assign the collision body a name.
10. Click OK.
11. Choose the Home tab -> Mechanical group -> Collision Body.
12. Select the object the rigid body interacts with.
13. In the Shape group, change Collision Shape to best match the shape of the body with minimal faces.
14. Under the Name group, enter a name for the Collision Body.
15. Click OK.
16. Repeat for any other objects that the rigid body interacts with.
Verifications
1. Run the Simulation: Choose the Home tab -> Simulate group -> Play.
2. Determine Rigid Bodies: Choose the Home tab -> Mechanical group -> Rigid Body Color.
- Note: Default rigid body color is blue.
