Export X,Y,Z Coordinates of a Point to a Spreadsheet

1.       Open a part file.

2.       Select the desired points.

3.       On one of the selected points, right click and choose Properties.

4.       In the Point Properties dialog, select the General tab.

5.       Enter PT.

6.       Select Add index to name.

7.       Click OK.

8.       In the Top Border Bar, choose Menu -> Preferences -> Visualization.

9.       In the Visualization Preferences dialog, expand the View group and select Decorations.

10.   Under the Names and Borders group, change Show Object Names to All Views.

11.   Click OK.

-          Note: All the points will be assigned a name.

12.   Choose the Tools tab -> Utilities group -> Spreadsheet.

13.   Select the first cell in the spreadsheet and enter PT1.

14.   Click and drag the cell contents down the column.

-          Note: The following steps use the POINT Function, ‘=POINT(“<name>”)’

15.   Select the first row of cells for the next three columns.

16.   Enter:  ‘=POINT(CELL)’

17.   To evaluate the coordinates and populate the cells, press Ctrl + Shift + Enter.

18.   Select the first row of cells for the next three columns.

19.   Click and drag down the column to populate the remaining cells.

20.   Coordinates will now be assigned.

-          Note: XYZ are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd columns respectively, following the column containing the point name.
