The Radial Menu seems to be disabled for a single user at a customer site.  All other users are able to open and use this menu by holding down the right mouse button.

How can this Radial Menu be enabled again for the affected user?

Solution

There is the following DWORD (32-bit) Value available in the Registry that allows you to enable/disable the Radial Menu.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 223\UI\RadialMenu Options]

"Pallet Enabled"=dword:00000001

DWORD (32-bit) Value - Pallet Enabled

The 'Value data' of the 'Value name' 'Pallet Enabled' is set to 1 by default which means that the Radial Menu will be opened while holding down the right mouse button.

Radial Menu

So in this case, it would be expected that the 'Value data' is set to 0, for whatever reason, on the affected user's machine. Therefore the Radial Menu did not open as expected.

After setting the 'Value data' back to 1 the user is now again able to open and use the Radial Menu.

The detailed steps are:

  1. Exit Solid Edge
    1. Run the Registry Editor on the operating system
      1. Select 'Computer > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Siemens > Solid Edge > Version 223 > UI > RadialMenu Options > Pallet Enabled'
        1. Choose 'Edit > Modify...'
          1. Change the 'Value data' from 0 to 1
            1. Quit the 'Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value' dialog with the OK button
              1. Exit the Registry Editor
                1. Start Solid Edge
                  1. Create a new ISO Metric Part document for example
                    1. Place the mouse cursor in the window and hold down the right mouse button
                      1. Notice that the Radial Menu opens as expected
